Princeps simplifies the secure sourcing and supply of fully traceable electronic, electrical and electromechanical (EEE) components including hard-to-find and obsolete parts for hi-rel (high reliability) applications in advanced industry sectors including aerospace & defence, mass transit, medical and industrial.
Founded in 2006, the company’s vision was to become the go-to expert and trusted strategic supply chain partner UK manufacturers turn to when they need help solving challenging EEE component supply problems. We now provide that function to demanding customers across aerospace, defence and other hi-rel sectors and they love our tenacity, our transparent and proactive communication and our total commitment to quality and service.
Princeps holds both AS9120 and AS6081 accreditations (with extensive in-house inspection and testing capabilities) and is the trusted single-source supplier of parts from thousands of global manufacturers, offering assured counterfeit mitigation and obsolescence management, as well as kitting services, vendor tail management and problem-solving of complex and challenging supply chain issues.
Unrestricted in its access to manufacturers and product ranges through our worldwide network of thousands of manufacturer-authorised sources, Princeps combines flexibility and best-pricing with full traceability.
As Princeps has grown, the range of products we supply has developed and now includes not just sourcing of EEE parts, but also standard and custom COTS (commercial off the shelf) products from franchise partners, build-to-print (BTP) and kitting services. We offer a range of supply solutions designed to provide customers with efficiency savings, best-in-class value and security. It is our aim to supply fully traceable, risk-free parts, on-time and to budget for our customers.
But when traceable parts are not an option, either because they are obsolete, unavailable or on long lead times, Princeps can provide a range of risk mitigated options for sourcing, testing and supplying open market parts under our certified Counterfeit Mitigation Plan.
Our customers come from all corners of the UK high tech manufacturing sector, and although aerospace and defence forms the core of our client base, we are also heavily involved in rail, automotive, medical, security and other industrial sectors.

His founding vision continues to inspire the company's mission to deliver The Princeps Way and become the premier strategic procurement partner for UK EEE manufacturers.

Ian has bought leadership to the Quality function since the company’s inception. His passion for continuous improvement at Princeps led to our early adoption of both the AS9120 and AS6081 quality management standards, contributing to the creation of a multi-million pound business providing reliable EEE procurement solutions to some of the world’s leading companies.

With extensive experience in sales and business development within the electronic, electrical and electromechanical (EEE) distribution sector, David joined Princeps to formulate strategic plans that accelerate sales growth, expand our customer base and maintain Princeps' competitive edge in challenging markets. Product sourcing
We source products worldwide and can supply the right part whether it is active, obsolete or end-of-life. We use our expert knowledge of the component marketplace to source products from industry partners, including thousands of manufacturers.
Competitive pricing
Strong relationships with our suppliers mean we can negotiate preferential pricing for our customers. Our pricing is very competitive compared with UK franchised distributors and we have achieved considerable savings for our customers.
Communication
We aim to turn every enquiry into a quotation within 24 hours and we make sure you are kept up-to-date with the progress of your order from quotation to shipment to invoice.
Delivery options
We offer a range of delivery options tailored to specific customer needs, including scheduled deliveries, call-off orders and e-kanban (electronic kanban).
Value added services
Some existing services include: baking & dry packing; tape & reeling/de-reeling; cropping & forming; MIL-SPEC upgrade; and solderability testing. However, in partnership with approved sub-contractors, we also provide additional services in response to customer requirements so please get in touch if there is something you need that we do not currently offer.
