The People at Princeps Electronics
We believe the relationship between our customers and the people at Princeps is really important so here are some brief details about the people you will speak to or meet.
Responsible for: Smooth running of the company, making sure customer's needs are met, keeping the team happy, managing sales and future developments.
Background: Dan trained as an aircraft engineer but soon moved into the world of distribution working at different times for a franchise distributor as well as an independent distributor. He held a number of sales and account management roles including setting up an independent office in China. Dan spent two years in China during which time he worked alongside the China - Britain Business Council. Back in the UK Dan’s 20+ year experience in franchise and independent distribution enabled him to review the marketplace and decide that no-one was really offering the quality of service plus partnership approach he knew he could achieve. So in August 2006 Princeps was born. Dan is equally as focused on providing a supportive environment for his team encouraging everyone to have input into the direction of the company.
Sales Account Manager
Responsible for: Customer contact and communications both on the phone and via personal visits.
Background: Neil is certainly versatile and has held a variety of roles in a variety of industries including a franchised distributor, a computer company, a bar and more recently he was a director in his own T-shirt printing company. In February 2010 Neil felt he wanted a new career direction so joined Princeps - the company appealed to him as it is clearly well run and managed and has a real sense of direction. Neil is keen to use the opportunity to be involved in shaping the future direction.
Responsible for: Customer contact and liaisons through personal and digital communication. Supporting the ever growing sales team.
Background: Recent University graduate Adam, although relatively new to the electro-component industry, has a wealth of sales experience gathered from multiple roles held throughout differing industries. Adam joined Princeps in June 2013 after being enticed by the unique emphasis placed on customer service instilled by Dan, Ian and Neil. He is keen to develop his specialist industry knowledge and put his polite and charismatic personality to use in cultivating our ever growing clientele.
Responsible for: Day-to-day operations including management and control of quality systems, being the AS9120 and AS6081 Quality Management Representative.
Background: Ian was one of the original Princeps employees, joining Dan at the start up. He has worked in component distribution for 20 years. Prior to this Ian worked in Quality Management within the chemical manufacturing industry, and as a quality inspector and researcher in a polymer laboratory. Ian joined Princeps because he felt this was a company truly focused on quality and a role in which he could really have an impact helping to establish it from the outset.
Accounts & Admin Lead
Responsible for: The smooth running of all administration and accounts tasks, the link between sales and admin.
Background: Hannah joined Princeps in 2016, having worked in retail for the previous three years. Originally working in a purely administration role, Hannah is being trained up as our new Accounts Lead and will be progressing through her AAT examinations over the coming years.
Responsible for: Malcolm is responsible for day to day running of our goods in/warehouse receiving goods from suppliers which are on either Prime, Prime Plus or Assure service.
Background: Malcolm worked for Arrow Electronics for over 29 years with jobs within the warehouse, offices and credit control. Malcolm has been with Princeps since 2010 and has so far enjoyed his time with us.
Sales Support & Admin
Responsible for: The smooth running between Sales and Operations. Load Orders/Confirmations, Book and dispatch orders.
Background: Lisa joined us after holding administration roles in the retail and banking sectors.
Responsible for: Assistance with the entire quotation process - including sourcing - and also assisting with customers to help maintain high levels of service.
Background: Molly joined Princeps in 2016having previously worked in the retail trade for two years. Molly is learning all aspects of account management and sales so she could well be in contact with you soon!
Responsible for: Working closely with our customers to ensure a positive customer experience with a view to increasing and maintaining customer satisfaction, ensuring that the individual needs of the customer are met.
Background: Leon had held a variety of roles before joining the electronics industry in 2010. Working as an account manager for a large number of OEM and CEM’s in both the UK and throughout Europe, Leon has gained a tremendous amount of experience within the Aviation industry. This work led to gaining several approvals within a number of major airlines, aerospace assemblers and MRO companies and was seen as an extension to their purchasing departments. Leon brings his aerospace knowledge to Princeps with a view to extending the expertise within both the MRO and electronics markets.
Junior Account Manager
Responsible for: Customer contact and communications both on the phone and via personal visits. Looks after all new customers.
Background: Lucie joined Princeps in 2015 from Harlow’s finest hotel – the Premier Inn. Lucie held a range of roles there for 3 years but mainly worked the reception desk, where she developed her customer facing skills. Lucie joined us in the Sales support role but has recently graduated to a Junior Account manager having learnt the Princeps Way over the last 12 months. If you’re new to Princeps – don’t be surprised if Lucie drops you a line!
